Indoor positioning is often mixed up with indoor navigation. When indoor positioning is in place, it does not mean that indoor navigation is in place too. Just plotting the 'blue dot' on your screen, does not mean that you have indoor navigation available. Users are continuously being forced to do some very complex spatial processing themselves on their routes in order to find their ways indoors.
Real Indoor navigation solves this all. It gives accurate turn by turn instructions to the user to ensure no spatial processing at all. The user should just simply follow the instructions without the need to process any spatial related information.
That is what we call Indoor Navigation, or better: Mobile Wayfinding. After all, the objective is to provide an excellent wayfinding experience to building visitors. Indoor Navigation is just a technology to enable this.
